Just been informed that Carey Blindenhofer is the artist on Stopwatch! Awesomeness!
Here's a link to his DeviantArt page:

I love his cartoony style - it's just the right mix of simple and detailed. I can't wait to see what he comes up with for Stopwatch!

If you're a budding young writer or artist from the BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) community and are looking for an outlet for your work, send your work in to us and let us bask in the rays of your awesomeness.
We're also interested in work from people who are not from a BME background - work that helps promote the message we are trying to get out there.
Thanks all,
Zak.
See below for an exciting new project from the Brothers Anwar:
A free quarterly anthology featuring high quality original writing from Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) writers; published as an ebook (PDF) and distributed via email and trollking.co.uk website and Facebook group.
The aim of this journal will be to provide new writers who are struggling to get their work placed with a platform to launch their writing careers. The anthology will consist of genre fiction (fantasy, sf and horror) short stories (1000 – 5000 words) and only the best poetry.
The secondary objective of the journal will be to promote the craft of writing amongst BME teenagers and young adults. This will be achieved by running writing contests with the best three published in the journal.Writers
Careful attention should be given to minimizing the occurrence of spelling, syntax and grammatical errors. Short stories must have a minimum word limit of 1000 words and a maximum of 5000 words. Poetry should be no more than 50 lines in length. All submissions must be of the fantasy, sf or horror genre. We are looking for good writing in every sense of the word, i.e. plot, characterization, world-building, structure and style.
First off, the work must be your own and previously unpublished. Each author/artist will retain copyright of their work. All submissions should be in either Arial or Times New Roman, font size 12, at least 1.5 line-spaced and with decent margins. Basically, in Standard Manuscript Format (http://www.shunn.net/format/story.html
Please send your submissions to submissions@trollking.co.uk
All submissions will be responded to as soon as possible. The editors are working on a voluntary basis and therefore it could take as long as four to eight weeks before we respond. As we are a not-for-profit, free distribution outfit, we are unable to pay for any submissions.
Artists
If you would like your work featured as cover art for the journal, it should be sent as a jpeg or tif format, 300 dpi, 210mm x 297mm. We are looking for artwork with a fantasy, science fiction or horror theme (preferably relating to the aims of the journal). Artwork must not feature nudity, acts of a sexual nature or gore. Copyright remains with you. Again, because of the nature of the journal, we will be unable to pay for your work.

Sorry for the complete lack of updating, I've been busy. So, here for your reading pleasure is an infodump on what's been going on wit me.
1) I've signed up with Mashiyu Entertainment America to work on one of their upcoming products, namely 'Anaria Online'. It's a MMORPG, and is looking particularly juicy. Details can be found here:
http://www.mashiyu.com/mashiyu.html
2) With regret, Jeff Wamester has pulled out of the WInterman project as a result of a densely packed schedule. He's an awesome artist and I can see why he has so much on his plate. If you're reading this, Jeff, all the best and maybe we'll be working for Marvel and DC together in years to come.
3) I've just had a paper published by the University of Central Lancashire. The paper is called 'An Evaluation of a Post-Colonial Critique of Tolkien' and is exactly that. Those of you who are interested in academia or know your Tolkien, the link can be found here:
http://www.uclan.ac.uk/information/serv
It is also available as a PDF. Just scroll down the page.
So who is it?
That's Jaguar, from Jaguar and the Gakal.
The artwork is courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Jay Rainford-Nash, who is also working on Mise En Scene with me for Accent UK's Predators. More of his work can be viewed at the following address:

Yes, you heard me right. Winterman, my pet project since February 2003 finally has an artist attached, and he's bloody good. Jeff Wamester is his name, and here's his site and DeviantArt page :

Take a gander. Wamester's artwork is eye-bleedingly awesome, and I'm thrilled to be working with him.
Winterman will be published by Doombox Comics( http://doomboxcomics.com/ ) when all is written and drawn. I'll keep you posted.
Zak.

Hi all
FQP's Dave Evans just notified me that we are ready to go on the Tom Foolery front. We're looking at a late 2009/early 2010 publication date. But it's one of them 'tentative' ones, more than likely.
The artist charged with producing the first ever, and most likely not the last, strip featuring 'Tom Foolery' has been named. I'm quite pleased to announce that it is Tony Suleri. You can view his artwork at the link:

He seems well suited to the very weird story I have in mind, as well as this even weirder hero's especially weird powers. That sounded weird, I know.
Zak.
Honestly.
Working on Stopwatch, a one-shot comic for Adynasty0 Comics, and its pissing me off. I've decided to cut away an entire strand of the story, cut off a central character (cos she's pissing me off and serves no real purpose in the story), and have been informed by a fellow comic scripter that my time-travel sections have the same kinds of holes in them you'd expect to find in a really bad John Pertwee episode of Doctor Who.
Well, now that that's out of my system, back to writing...

Zak.
ps. If Mr GRRR Martin is reading this, as unlikely as it might be, buy a copy!!!!!
Accent UK's latest anthology, WESTERN, has just been sent to the printers. That means the ball is finally being moved on the PREDATORS anthology, in stead of having to move itself. Hope that makes sense for you.
I have an artist attached to my own story in PREDATORS now - Jay Rainford-Nash. If that name sounds familiar then you've been reading this journal, as he is the artist on Jaguar and Gakal (soon to be available on-line). I have seen the first page of J&G, and I've gotta say, I'm impressed with his work.

They're looking for an artist for my submission yet, but more info when I get it.
That's right, Lucky Creature Attacks #3 is available to buy. The Anthology is mainly a comics anthology, with a small amount of poetry and a slightly larger amount of prose. My story, written at the beginning of my professional writing career (this time last year!!!), is called, 'The Arab and the Englishman'. A tale of the crusades, with a strong moral message.
Scott Smith is the editor.
More information can be found on the Lucky Creature Blog:

A wrap-around cover is provided by Jessica White of Heroes and Criminals Press. More of her work can be found here:
